Note #1: Using a carpet extractor is highly preferable to using a wetvac, as most wetvacs don't develop enough suction to extract deep down. The cheapie, cutesy extractors sold in big-box and pet stores don't have enough suction, so you really need a rental (see Note #2) or to own one that's pro-quality enough to really develop suction (officially called "water lift" in the industry). You might attain decent results with a good-quality "spotter" such as auto detailers use. Be sure to get a unit with a high "water lift" rating. 110 is ok; 150 is better; the truckmount units the pro's park in your driveway can yield 350, so you can see how much value their is in suction, especially for subsurface extraction.

Note #2: You may need to adapt the tool to the hose of the extractor. The tool accommodates three sizes of hose cuffs. Pool supply houses tend to have the proper hoses and cuffs, so check in your area.

Of all the blacklights we've ever used, this one works the best by far for finding urine. It's dramatically better than any of the others we've bought online, at home improvement stores, from our competitors or at pet supply stores over the years.

Made by GE, it's 18" long, has an on/off rocker switch, comes fully assembled and has a 4½' cord.

Don't waste your money on a wimpy blacklight that puts out the wrong wavelength of UV light — it won't show you where the urine is (or the vomit or the feces or any other body fluid). And don't waste your money on those pathetic little "portable handheld" units, either. We've found them to be too weak to do any good.
